How to remove upper door panel ls1tech. Pry the panel off behind the door handle using a flat head screwdriver then remove the screw behind it. Next remove the screw from the very front underside of the armrest near where the switch panel is. Step 2 remove window regulator assembly. Attach a couple of vise clamps to the garage door tracks just below the bearings for the second panel.
This will disengage the clip. This will hold the upper part of the door in place when you remove the 2 by 4 inch prop to get at the center bracket of the lower panel. Lift up and out on the door panel to remove it. The rest of the panel is held in place by plastic clips behind the panel.
Step 1 remove the door panel. Watch the edge near the door to avoid damage to the trim in that area. This will allow easier removal of the door panel. There are some screws connecting the panel to the speaker cover.
Remove the screw that is located near the now exposed area of the door handle. Carefully peel back the plastic moisture shield away from the door skin so that you don t rip it. Begin by removing the two phillips screws located on the bottom of the door panel then remove the screw up near the side mirror. Once you ve removed those five screws use a door panel removal tool or putty knife and work your way around the outside of the panel to release it from the plastic retention clips.
Remove the screw inside the arm rest grab handle. Remove the screw from the side mirror panel and then remove the panel. Remove the door speaker by removing the four screws holding it in place. The next screw to remove is down in the map pocket of the door.
